About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Consultant MaxillofacialSurgeon to join our Maxillofacial Surgery service at Christchurch Hospital.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a broadrange of Maxillofacial services while working within a highly collaborativemultidisciplinary environment. You will provide high-quality clinical careacross outpatient clinics operating theatre sessions acute and on-callresponsibilities and inpatient services.

Alongside clinical responsibilities this role offersopportunities to contribute to education research and service improvementinitiatives. You will play an important role in teaching and supportingRegistrars House Officers Medical Students Nursing staff and Allied Healthprofessionals while helping maintain a culture of continuous learning andexcellence.

The successful candidate will participate in a 1:3 on-callroster and contribute to providing equitable patient-focused care aligned withbest-practice principles.

The Maxillofacial Surgery service at Christchurch Hospitalprovides specialist care across a diverse range of conditions and proceduresfor patients throughout Canterbury and surrounding regions.

You will be joining a supportive and experienced teamcommitted to delivering excellent patient outcomes while fostering innovationeducation and service development. The team works closely alongside medicalnursing and allied health colleagues across a wide range of specialties.

About You

As a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon you will bring bothclinical expertise and a collaborative approach to patient care.

You will have:

• Registration with both the Dental Council of New Zealand and the Medical Council of New Zealand (or eligibility for registration)
• Expertise across general Maxillofacial Surgery
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• A commitment to education quality improvement research and ongoing professional development
• The ability to work effectively in a complex environment and prioritise clinical workload
• A patient-centred approach and commitment to achieving equitable healthcare outcomes
