Health New Zealand is looking for a Kitchen Assistant tojoin the Ashburton Hospital WellFood our dedicated andhard-working WellFood Department and help feed our tūroro (patients) and whānau(families).

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out the general kitchen and cleaning duties which will include washing dishes
  • Providing great customer service to our tūroro (patients) and their whānau
  • Trayline dishing up of meals and desserts
  • Collecting meal trays from our tūroro (patients)
  • Closing the café

Starting rate $28.63 per hour. Based on the E tū Service andFood Workers collective agreement

About You

We are looking for a reliable hardworking and flexiblecandidate who is able to bring their passion to the Ashburton kitchen. WellFoodis looking for motivated and punctual kaimahi (staff) to join our kapa (team).

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong teamwork and relationship skills
  • Good time management and an eye for detail.
  • A flexible approach and a can do attitude
  • Focus determination and a sense of pride in your work
  • Previous experience in a similar environment would be advantageous
