Aboutthe role

We arecurrently seeking a passionate Kaiako to join us at our Whare Amaion a permanent full-time (80 hours per week) basis based in Gisborne.

Ourcommitment is to create lasting and enriching experiences for Tamariki andwhānau by providing exceptional holistic educational opportunities throughengaging interactive learning. As a kaiako you will create a safe culturallyenriched learning environment for our tamariki. Your role includes deliveringmarau Māori aligned with Te Whāriki documenting tamariki progress andcollaborating with kaimahi and whānau to achieve positive outcomes whilesupporting our strategic direction. Your impact is diverse and vital tohigh-quality education.

Aboutyou

To be successful for this role you will have thefollowing:

• Qualificationin Teaching for Early Childhood Education or Primary Level 7
• Acurrent Practicing Certificate issued by the Teaching Council of Aotearoa NewZealand.
• Provenexperience working with tamariki.
• Canspeak te reo Māori
• A soundunderstanding of Māori culture values and tikanga.
• A fullNZ Drivers License.
• Thisrole as classes as a Core Worker and you will need to pass a safety check underthe Childrens Act 2014.
• Therole does require some lifting bending and standing for long periods of time.

As akaupapa Māori organisation your willingness to participate in culturalactivities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values culture andtikanga) is desirable.
