The Role

We are looking for a reliable safety-focused Hydrovac Operator to join our Christchurch team and work across sites throughout this key operational role you will drive a hydrovac truck to site safely excavate around underground utilities using high-pressure water and vacuum equipment remove debris and fluids and support our directional drilling crews to establish clear drill paths. You will also complete pre-start checks establish safe work areas care for the equipment dispose of material appropriately and return the truck to the yard ready for the next job.

This is a hands-on physical role that involves working outdoors in changing Canterbury conditions and interacting professionally with customers contractors and members of the public. You may also be required to drive a transporter or other plant and assist our civil and build crews with general labouring duties. You will work both independently and as part of a team following site controls and completing each job in line with health and safety requirements customer expectations design specifications and contract requirements.

What You Will Bring

• A current full New Zealand Class 4 driver licence (essential)
• Previous hydrovac heavy vehicle plant operation civil construction or utilities experience (preferred)
• A strong and practical commitment to health safety and environmental care
• A customer-focused approach with clear communication and professional conduct on every site
• Proven reliability punctuality and a strong work ethic
• The physical fitness and resilience to complete hands-on work outdoors in varied conditions
• A positive team-oriented attitude and willingness to follow direction learn and help where needed

Required Experience:

Manager
