Job Summary
Were looking for an engaged and people-focused Health Safety & Environment (HS&E) Advisor to support our Otara manufacturing site with some responsibility for our Auckland office. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships influencing positive change and creating safer healthier workplaces.
Working closely with our machine operators and managers youll play a key role in driving our health safety and environmental strategy while fostering a culture of accountability engagement and continuous improvement across the business.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the HSE Lead in implementing HSE strategy annual plans and continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
- Providing practical HSE advice coaching and support to leaders and employees including facilitating risk assessments and implementing effective controls.
- Supporting and continuously improving the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS) ensuring compliance with legislative and business requirements.
- Facilitating incident investigations root cause analysis and corrective action management.
- Coordinating workplace inspections audits monitoring and assurance activities to drive compliance and performance.
- Partnering with our employees and leaders on injury management and recovery including Return to Work (RTW) plans.
- Leading HSE training toolbox talks meetings worker participation and consultation initiatives to strengthen HSE culture and engagement.
- Monitoring HSE and environmental performance identifying trends preparing reports and supporting environmental compliance and sustainability programmes.
Qualifications :
Were looking for someone who has the following skills and experience:
- A qualification in Health Safety & Environment and significant work experience
- Proficient in the Office Suite (Excel Word and PowerPoint)
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills (verbal and written) and the ability to communicate with both the shop floor and the management team
- Ability to influence without direct authority and coach business partners in this skill
- Ability to work under pressure with a high level of integrity and confidentiality and adapt to a changing environment
- Pragmatic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset
