As our Heavy Diesel Mechanic youll be akey member of the Fleet Services team responsible for ensuring maximumequipment reliability and availability across a large and varied fleet.
This is a permanent position offering 45 hours per week with a starting rate between $43-$47.00 per hour.
Youll work on Volvo and CAT Wheel Loaders Volvo CAT and Hyundai ExcavatorsLiebherr Log Loaders and Material Handlers and Terminal Tractors and otherforestry and port support equipment.
Diagnose repair and maintain heavydiesel machinery and equipment
Perform advanced fault finding across mechanical hydraulic and electricalsystems
Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing activities
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with company standards
Support and mentor an apprentice mechanic
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation
Liaise with operations teams to minimise downtime and maximise fleetavailability
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Fleet Servicesteam
Recognisedqualification in Heavy Automotive Engineering (MITO or equivalent)
Significant experience maintaining heavy diesel equipment
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving capabilities
Knowledge of hydraulic electrical and mechanical systems
Ability to mentor and support junior team members
Proactive approach and commitment to quality workmanship
Strong focus on health safety and environmental responsibility
Full New Zealand Driver Licence
Class 2 License with W T and R endorsements advantageous
Availability toparticipate in an on-call roster to cover weekends and after hours
