Love working outdoors and take pride in creating tidy well-maintained green spaces Join Downer Wellington as a Gardener and help keep parks reserves gardens and public spaces looking their best.

In this hands-on role youll carry out a variety of gardening and landscaping duties including planting pruning weed control edging mulching hedge trimming garden maintenance and general upkeep across designated client sites. Youll ensure all work is completed to a high standard while maintaining a strong focus on safety teamwork and customer service.

No two days are the same - if you enjoy physical outdoor work being part of a supportive crew and seeing the results of your work every day this could be the role for you.

You will need to be physically fit happy to work outdoors and passionate about gardening and outdoor maintenance along with the following:

• Full drivers licence (Class 2 an advantage) with experience in gardening landscaping or grounds maintenance desirable.
• New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture level 3/4 highly regarded
• Confidence using gardening equipment such as hedge trimmers weed eaters knapsack sprayers and other handheld tools.
• Positive professional and reliable attitude with strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently show initiative and take pride in maintaining outdoor spaces.
• Good communication skills and confidence interacting with the public.
• Willingness to learn follow safety procedures and use basic electronic devices for work tasks.
