Te Taumata has recently completed a significant organisational reset. Roles have been reshaped the finance team is being strengthened and this Financial Controller position will play an important part inembedding our future operating model.

This role will suit someone who enjoys building capability strengthening systems and establishing the technical backbone of a finance function through its next phase of development.

The role

As Financial Controller youll provide senior technical and strategic financial leadership across the Group and working closely with our Finance Manager who leads day to day operation of the finance function and wider finance team.

Your focus will be the organisations more complex technical accounting statutory compliance tax audit financial governance and group consolidated reporting.

Youll be the person governance and executive leadership turn to for sound financial advice on major decisions from capital investment to long term sustainability. Youll also ensure our reporting integrity and financial controls hold up to scrutiny as the organisation grows in scale and complexity.

What youll bring
  • Substantial senior experience in financial control technical accounting audit or statutory reporting
  • A recognised professional accounting qualification such as CA CPA or equivalent together with substantial senior finance leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience producing or overseeing entity level and consolidated group reporting ideally within a multi-entity or contract funded environment
  • The ability to translate complex financial information into clear practical advice that non-finance people can understand and use.
  • A commitment to working in a values-led kaupapa Māori environment; an understanding of te reo me ōna tikanga would be an advantage
