THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Casual Farm Assistantyoullhelp the team when extra support is needed such as when people are away or during busier times on farm. The work is varied practical and hands-on.
Depending on the day you could be helping with milking calf-rearing fencing weed control and other general farm duties.
Youdontneed to know everything already.Youllbe working alongside an experienced team who can show you how things are done and help you build confidence on farm. What matters most is that you are reliable willing to learn and comfortable working as part of a team.
At Pāmu safety and wellbeing are important.Youllhave access to well-maintained equipment and clear health and safety practices so you can feel supported while you work.
This is a drive-in/drive-out role soyoullneed reliable transport to get to and from the farm.

Youllenjoy practical work being outdoors and being part of a team where people help each other out.
You may already have some dairy experience or you may be looking for a chance to build your skills in a supportive farm environment.
Ideallyyoullbring:
Some dairy farming experience or a genuine interest in learning
Care for animals and a commitment to doing things safely
A positive reliable approach and willingness to help where needed
Good attention to detail and confidence to ask questions when youre unsure
A restricted or full drivers licence

ThePāmuMoutoacomplex is made up of seven dairy farms milkingaround 4200cows. Some of the farms are fully certified organic while others are moving towards organic certification.Itsa busy and interesting place to work with plenty to learn across different farming systems.
