THE OPPORTUNITY
Join the team at Pāmus Aoraki Organic Dairy Farm. This is a hands-on dairy role where youll be part of the day-to-day running of the farm. We are looking for someone to join the team as soon as possible for a fixed term period.
Youll work with a supportive team and farm manager while building your skills in an Organic farming system across milking calving feeding fencing moving stock animal health and caring for the environment.
No two days are quite the same. Youll have the chance to learn from experienced people grow your confidence and keep developing your dairy farming career.
This is a fixed term position from now until 10 January 2027.
ABOUT YOU
You might already have dairy farming experience or you may be ready to take the next step in your farming career.
What matters most is that you enjoy working with animals like being outdoors and are willing to learn. Youll be part of a team that supports each other works safely and takes pride in caring for the animals the farm and the environment.
Youll do well in this role if you:
Enjoy practical hands-on work
Have an interest in organic farming
Are comfortable working with animals
Can ask questions and speak up when you need help
Like working as part of a team
Are keen to keep learning and building your skills
Have a current restricted or full New Zealand driver licence
THE PĀMU FARM
Pāmus Aoraki Dairy Unit is a certified organic farm in a great location just 10 minutes from Foxton and 40 minutes from Palmerston North with plenty of recreational activities nearby.
The 196-hectare effective property spring calves 485 cows and milks through a 50-bail rotary cowshed equipped with MilkHub automatic cup removers and an automatic plant wash. Halter technology is also integrated into the farming system.
The team works a five-days-on two-days-off roster for most of the year moving to a six-days-on two-days-off roster for eight weeks during calving.
