Were searching for a Construction Operator to join our team in Invercargill helping deliver a wide range of capital works renewals and upgrades across the regions water wastewater and storm water networks. From installing pipelines and repairing critical assets to operating machinery and supporting emergency response activities no two days are quite the same.
One day you might be working alongside a crew installing new infrastructure that will serve the community for decades. The next you could be operating plant solving practical challenges on site or supporting planned works that keep essential services running smoothly.
This is a role for someone who enjoys variety takes pride in doing quality work and likes being part of a team that gets things done. Youll work alongside experienced operators supervisors and engineers contributing to projects that improve the reliability and resilience of essential networks across Southland.

Mōu koe About You
You will bring:
- Experience in civil construction ideally within water wastewater storm water or pipeline projects
- Confidence working with construction plant equipment and machinery in a safe and productive manner
- A current Class 1 driver licence with Class 2 highly regarded
- Excavator operating experience and WTR endorsements advantageous
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical can-do approach to challenges
- Good communication skills and confidence completing job records reports and electronic field documentation
- A genuine commitment to health safety environmental responsibility and quality workmanship
- The ability to build positive relationships with clients subcontractors stakeholders and members of the public
- A proactive attitude and willingness to support after-hours callouts and emergency response activities when required
- Traffic management experience or qualifications would be beneficial
