The Role Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
Asa casual Support Worker you will always have variety in your work.

Casual roles are to cover leave for permanentSupport Workers - the hours of work are not regular and are offered when theybecome available. You could be working across a variety of services that operate24 hours a day 7 days a week and you could work across a variety of servicesacross Tāmaki Makaurau between Pukekohe & Onehunga.

The services you may cover include Housing and Recoveryand Acute alternative/respite services. You will support tāngata whai ora to developskills to manage their health and wellbeing and maintain healthy environments.

Day Shifts: 7.00am - 3.30pm
Afternoon shifts: 3.00pm - 11.30pm
Night shifts: 11.00pm - 7.30am

Responsibilities could include/ but may not be limited to:

  • Work in a recovery-focused way
  • Supporting with cleaning cooking and helping with everyday household tasks either for or alongside in preparation either for or alongside.
  • Medication support
  • Attending appointments and advocating for people.
  • Budgeting and independent daily living skills

You Mōu

  • Applicants must hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent. Alternatively you will commence study towards this within six months of starting your employment with Pathways. This needs to be completed within two years of commencement. Pathways offers significant support for Support Workers to complete this study.
  • You must be able to be flexible and available for varying shifts- including awake night shifts.
  • You must hold a current full drivers licence.
  • You must hold a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
  • Youre a strong communicator written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of and demonstrable commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
