We are looking for an experienced Billing Administrator to take the reins of invoicing at Halter and become the friendly dependable face of billing for both our customers and our internal teams.

This is not a heads down tucked away in the corner finance job. Youll be on the phone with dairy farmers in the Waikato and ranchers in Texas working shoulder to shoulder with Sales Account Management and Finance and owning a process that touches customers across multiple countries and currencies. If you like people as much as you like a tidy ledger you are going to have a very good time in this role.

You will be the person everyone goes to when they have a billing question and the person who makes sure they rarely need to ask twice!

• Be the key owner of the invoicing cycle preparing and reviewing accurate on time invoices across our NZ AU and US customer base.

• Keep customer billing data clean and current: contracts collar counts subscription changes pricing credits and adjustments.

• Reconcile billing against contracts and system data so what we invoice is always what we agreed.

• Spot the gaps in our process and fix them as we grow the way we bill has to grow with us.

• Act as the main point of contact for customer billing queries across phone email and Slack.

• Pick up the phone. Our farmers and ranchers are busy people who appreciate a real conversation being comfortable and confident on a call is essential to this role.

• Resolve queries and disputes with empathy and clarity and turn a confusing invoice into a five-minute conversation that leaves the customer feeling looked after.

• Be the go to billing expert for internal stakeholders Sales Account Management and the wider Finance team.

• Answer billing questions quickly and accurately and help the business understand how our billing works and why.

• Partner with Finance on month-end reporting audit requests and process improvements.

• Support the collections process end to end from friendly reminders through to escalation always protecting the customer relationship.

• Keep accurate records of conversations commitments and payment plans and escalate risk early.

This role is for someone who has done it before. You will need:

• Proven experience in a billing accounts receivable or invoicing role (2 years) ideally in a high volume subscription or SaaS environment.

• Genuine confidence on the phone. You enjoy talking to customers and you can hold a firm kind conversation about money.

• Strong written and verbal communication you can explain a billing issue clearly to a farmer a salesperson and an accountant and adjust your language for each.

• Serious attention to detail. You notice the number that looks off and you care about getting it right.

• A love of process. You follow it you document it and you make it better.

• Solid systems capability comfortable in an ERP or billing platform (NetSuite Xero or similar) and confident in Excel or Google Sheets.

• The ability to juggle competing priorities calmly in a business thats moving quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-currency or multi-entity billing (NZ AU US).

• Exposure to NetSuite Salesforce or a similar CRM/ERP stack.

• Experience helping a finance function scale building processes where none existed.
