Job Summary

As an Associate Engineer in our New Zealand business your impact will be in the planning and delivery of technically complex Building and Structures projects nationally.  You will also direct technical professionals engaged in inter-related engineering responsibilities.

What youll do

  • Provide technical expertise and advice through the different stages of the project lifecycle to deliver practical and economical solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Lead the planning and management of medium to large-scale projects including producing and/or coordinating tender documentation design documentation/specifications and project deliverables within agreed project timeframes and budget.
  • Manage project performance financials and resource planning.
  • Contribute to the training and development of junior engineers and project resources
  • Act as project liaison monitor project progress and provide project status reports to client/s.  
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationship/s to ensure on-going client satisfaction and service delivery.
  • Prepare and reviews high level and complex technical reports.

Qualifications :

Ideally you will have 12 years experience with demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and strong technical expertise within Buildings and Structures within a consultancy addition you will also:

  • Accredited tertiary qualifications in Engineering with Structural Engineering expertise.
  • Local knowledge of New Zealand Engineering codes and principles.
  • CPEng and/or NER highly desired.
  • Low to Minimal Risk Registration with Auckland Council (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Excellent client management skills with established network within Auckland market. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in the management and successful delivery of projects of scope.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team including the ability to interpret and communication technical information to non-engineers.
  • Experience in managing a project team to deliver high profile projects in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with stakeholders authorises clients and contractors at all levels.
  • An encouraging attitude towards helping to develop members of the team as well as drive to grow your own career.
