Job Purpose and Impact

The Turnaround Planner is responsible for planning coordinating and leading the preparation and execution of planned plant turnarounds and major this role you will develop comprehensive work packages coordinate resources and ensure all turnaround activities are safely efficiently and cost-effectively prepared and executed. During turnaround execution you will work closely with the Operations Day Operator to coordinate daily activities resolve planning issues and ensure work is completed according to plan. You will be part of the Reliability Improvement team working alongside two Turnaround Planners and a Turnaround Lead to continuously improve turnaround performance across the site.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop detailed turnaround work packages including work instructions labor estimates required materials special tools permits and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with Operations Maintenance Reliability Engineering Inspection and Project teams to define challenge and optimize turnaround scope.
  • Coordinate the procurement and availability of materials spare parts rental equipment and specialized services required for turnaround execution.
  • Develop and maintain detailed turnaround schedules in collaboration with fellow Turnaround Planners and key stakeholders.
  • Support scope freeze work prioritization and Management of Change (MOC) processes throughout the turnaround lifecycle.
  • Review work orders and technical documentation to ensure all activities are fully planned and executable before turnaround execution.
  • Coordinate turnaround execution together with the Operations Day Operator ensuring work is performed safely according to schedule and with minimal disruption.
  • Monitor turnaround progress identify planning or execution risks resolve emerging issues and communicate status updates to turnaround leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve turnaround efficiency reduce outage duration minimize costs and capture lessons learned for future turnarounds.
  • Maintain turnaround planning documentation work management systems and historical records to support future planning and continuous improvement.
  • Support post-turnaround reviews by ensuring completed work is accurately documented and maintenance history is updated in SAP.
  • Work closely with fellow Turnaround Planners to balance workload standardize planning practices and support successful turnaround delivery across the site.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Maintenance Industrial Technology or a related technical field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance and turnaround planning within a process industry.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrates ownership a proactive attitude and a solution-oriented mindset with the ability to perform effectively in a dynamic turnaround environment.
  • Extensive experience with SAP or an equivalent Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Strong understanding of industrial maintenance processes contractor management and safe work practices.
  • Excellent planning organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time-critical conditions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across Operations Maintenance Engineering and contractor organizations.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to improve turnaround performance safety and cost effectiveness.
