We are looking for an experienced Hardware Design Team Lead to provide dedicated leadership and direction to our industrial design team.
This is a senior leadership opportunity combining industrial designexpertisewithpeopleleadership workloadplanningand stakeholder coordination. You will help the team deliver high-quality design work by setting clear priorities supporting teamdevelopmentandprovidingcredible guidance during technical design discussions.
Initially the role will focus on leading the industrial design team. Over time the scope may expand to includeadditionalhardware-related functions such as technical writing hardwaresupportand regulatoryexpertise
WHAT WILL YOU DO
- Leadsupportand develop a team of industrial designers.
- Plan and balance team workloadsprioritiesand resources.
- Provide guidance during technical and industrial design discussions.
- Support the team in resolving complex design challenges.
- Establish clear priorities and help the team deliver against agreedobjectives.
- Coordinate stakeholders across industrial design and the wider hardware environment.
- Communicate plans prioritiesrisksand trade-offs clearly.
- Promote collaboration across technical and cross-functional teams.
- Support the future integration ofadditionalhardware-related specialists into the team.
- Contribute to the continued development and broader direction of the hardware design function.
Significant experiencein Industrial Design Product Design or Hardware Design within a product development environment.
Experience insheet metal design.
Experience in managing suppliers working with procurementQCand QA teams.
Strong technical designexpertisewith the ability toprovidecredible guidance and contribute to design decisions.
Proven experienceleading and developing teams either through direct line management or leading project teams.
Ability toprioritize plan and balance workloadsacross multiple projects and competing deadlines.
Strongstakeholder management skillswith experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
Excellentcommunication skills with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around priorities andobjectives.
Experience coaching mentoring and supporting the professional growth of designers or technical professionals.
Demonstrated ability to manage complexity resolve challenges and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Strong collaboration skills anda track recordof working effectively within cross-functional engineering and product teams.
Ability to drive team performance whilemaintaininghigh standardsof design quality and delivery.
