Job Summary

Most engineering roles ask you to build one system well. This one asks a harderquestion: how do a dozen systems built by different people at different times behave as oneA multinational defence organisation needs a systems engineer for exactly that problem in theair command and control domain.

You would work across the full lifecycle from requirements and traceability throughtechnical baselines and interface management to integration planning and the verificationstrategy that proves it all holds together. It is a role for someone who is comfortable withstructured engineering practice and equally comfortable asking whether the end user canactually work with the result.

What you would be doing

  • System-of-systems engineering and lifecycle management.
  • Requirements engineering and traceability worked in DOORS or a tool of that family.
  • Holding the technical baseline and control of the interfaces between systems.
  • Planning the integration and writing the strategy that verifies it.
  • Applying operational domain knowledge particularly air command and control federatedmission operations and how the wider organisation is put together.
  • Human factors usability analysis and user journey assessment making sure the capabilityis usable not merely compliant.

What we are looking for

  • A BSc from a recognised university in a technical subject with substantial IT content plusthree years of relevant experience or in place of the degree at least five years ofextensive and progressive experience in this kind of work.
  • Real system-of-systems and requirements engineering practice with structured tooling.
  • Experience of technical baselines interfaces and integration verification.
  • Desirable: prior work in an international environment of both military and civilian staffand knowledge of how such an organisation is structured.

The work is full time on site in The Hague the Netherlands from early September to the endof December 2026.
