We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering team working on innovative software products for the Food the role of a Senior Software Engineer you will have a key role in the development of our software that supports JBT Marels vision of transforming the way food is processed globally.

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer you will lead the design and implementation of software modules that support JBT-Marels vision. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including machine engineering and software platform development teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions for industrial food processing machines.

What Youll Do

• Lead design implementation and testing of innovative software modules and features.
• Optimize existing software solutions and design next gen software solutions for the food processing industry
• Analyze requirements and write design specifications for software modules and software features
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team collaboration.
• Collaborate with multiple internal teams to ensure system architecture is implemented and tested.
• Occasionally support product releases and training on customer sites.
• Train and mentor Software Engineers and Associate Software Engineers
• Contribute to team collaboration and build team spirit
• Work in an Agile Scrum environment focused on collaboration speed and customer value

• Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science or similar or comparable work experience and knowledge
• Experience and Docker.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and Git.
• Experience in designing developing and implementing large software solutions with object-oriented programming languages in combination software development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and good understanding of database operations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of co-workers stakeholders and customers.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Nice to Have

• Background in industrial automation or machine control.
• Understanding of reliability requirements in the food industry.
• Experience with and comfort working in multi-cultural multi-discipline organization is an advantage.
• Familiar with Agile software development frameworks and database operations
• Basic knowledge of Linux and familiarity with PLCs.
