Job Summary

As a Senior Python Platform Engineer Data Access Layer you will:
  • Design develop test deploy and maintain reliable software solutions for the Data Access Layer.
  • Develop application components using Python and modern Python frameworks and libraries.
  • Build APIs and backend services using FastAPI.
  • Work with SQLAlchemy for database access and application data management.
  • Develop asynchronous applications using AsyncIO where required.
  • Implement automated testing using Pytest to ensure application quality and reliability.
  • Design and maintain containerized applications using Docker.
  • Develop and operate applications within Kubernetes environments.
  • Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Work with Microsoft Azure cloud services and application infrastructure.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
  • Work with Kafka and related messaging or event-driven application components.
  • Use PowerShell and Bash for scripting automation and operational activities.
  • Work with Databricks Unity Catalog and support data access and governance requirements.
  • Design application infrastructure and solutions that meet high availability and reliability requirements.
  • Participate in the complete software development lifecycle from planning and design through development testing and automated deployment.
  • Apply software engineering best practices code reviews and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams and other technical stakeholders in an Agile environment.

  • 68 years of overall professional experience in software engineering platform engineering application development or a related field.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in Python.
  • Experience developing backend applications and APIs using FastAPI.
  • Experience with SQLAlchemy and database-driven applications.
  • Experience with asynchronous Python development using AsyncIO.
  • Experience with Pytest and automated software testing.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Kafka and event-driven application environments.
  • Experience working with Databricks Unity Catalog or a strong understanding of its capabilities.

  • Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and practical experience setting up and maintaining pipelines.
