We are looking for a Senior LANSA Developer with extensive experience in LANSA development and IBM i / AS400 environments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing maintaining and supporting business-critical applications running on LANSA and IBM i (AS400/iSeries) platforms. You will work with LANSA development frameworks RDML/RDMLX DB2/400 and SQL while supporting application performance production issues and ongoing enhancements.

This is a senior-level position requiring strong technical expertise analytical skills and the ability to work independently in an Agile environment.

• Design develop enhance and maintain applications using LANSA.
• Develop applications using:
  • Visual LANSA
  • LANSA RDML
  • RDMLX
  • LANSA Frameworks
  • LANSA Repository
• Develop and maintain application screens business logic and underlying processes.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective LANSA solutions.
• Work with IBM i / AS400 / iSeries environments.
• Develop and maintain applications using DB2/400.
• Manage and troubleshoot IBM i components including:
  • Job queues
  • Batch processing
  • Message queues
  • System monitoring
  • Application processes
• Investigate and resolve production issues within LANSA and IBM i environments.
• Perform application and database performance troubleshooting.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries.
• Analyze and resolve production data issues.
• Support data modelling and database-related activities.
• Collaborate with business users technical teams and other developers to deliver application enhancements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and follow Agile development practices.
• Maintain technical documentation and support application knowledge transfer.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of existing applications and development processes.

• 8 years of software development experience with strong experience in LANSA.
• Extensive hands-on experience with:
  • Visual LANSA
  • RDML
  • RDMLX
  • LANSA Frameworks
  • LANSA Repository concepts
• Strong experience developing screens and application business logic.
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain existing LANSA applications.
• Experience working on enterprise-scale LANSA applications.

• Strong hands-on experience with IBM i / AS400 / iSeries.
• Experience with DB2/400.
• Understanding of IBM i job queues and batch processing.
• Experience working with message queues.
• Experience with system monitoring and operational support.
• Strong production troubleshooting and performance analysis skills.

• Strong SQL development skills.
• Experience with DB2 databases particularly DB2/400.
• Understanding of data modelling and database structures.
• Experience troubleshooting production data issues.
• Strong query optimization and performance-tuning skills.
• Knowledge of database administration and DBMS concepts.

• Experience working within an Agile development environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical tasks.
• Good communication skills when working with technical and business stakeholders.
• Ability to document technical solutions and support knowledge transfer.
