Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support the successful delivery of a large-scale data centre project in the Groningen region of the Netherlands.

As part of the Project Controls team the successful candidate will establish implement and lead the projects risk and change management function ensuring alignment with the Clients governance requirements and delivery objectives. The role will be responsible for managing the projects Early Warning process maintaining robust risk and change control frameworks facilitating the proactive identification and mitigation of risks and opportunities and ensuring that changes are effectively assessed governed and communicated throughout the project lifecycle.

Working closely with the client project leadership team contractors commercial team Project Controls team and Portfolio Service Delivery Lead the Risk & Change Manager will promote industry best practice support informed decision-making and contribute to the successful delivery of this critical programme of works while maintaining consistency of approach across the wider portfolio.

Role Responsibilities

Develop implement and maintain the projects early warning risk and change management process in accordance with client and project governance requirements.

Risk & Opportunity Management
  • Facilitate risk identification workshops risk reviews and opportunity assessments with key project stakeholders.
  • Establish maintain and continuously improve the project risk register ensuring risks and opportunities are appropriately identified assessed monitored and reported.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
  • Ensure response actions are identified implemented and tracked through to completion.
  • Support the development of a proactive risk-aware culture across the project team.

Change Management
  • Support the management of contractor change submissions and associated governance processes.
  • Work closely with planning cost management commercial and delivery teams to ensure all changes are appropriately reviewed assessed approved documented and communicated.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Change Control Board meetings and maintain the project change register.
  • Monitor cumulative change impacts and identify change trends drivers and potential project implications.
Project Controls
  • Collaborate with other Project Controls disciplines to ensure the effective integration of risk and change management into project delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of risk and change performance metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with client corporate contractual and industry governance standards.
  • Support project reviews assurance activities stage-gate assessments and lessons-learned initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management Project Management Business Management Risk Management or a related discipline.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body such as APM IRM PMI or equivalent.
  • Working towards or holding relevant professional certifications such as the APM Risk Certificate IRM Certificate PMP or equivalent.
Experience
  • Delivery of risk and change management services within construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Working within complex multi-disciplinary project environments involving multiple contractors and stakeholders.
  • Development and implementation of project risk and change management processes including governance boards and approval frameworks.
  • Risk workshop facilitation and maintenance of project risk registers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Working within a client-facing environment and providing advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Working on programmes or projects with significant commercial schedule and delivery complexity.
  • Familiarity with NEC or other standard forms of contract.
  • Commercial awareness and an appreciation of contractual risk allocation.
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between risk and change management and project controls functions.
Desirable
  • Experience working on projects in the Netherlands or wider European markets is advantageous.
  • Experience supporting hyperscale data centre developments.
  • Experience working during construction and site delivery phases.
  • Experience establishing risk and change functions on major projects.
  • Knowledge of cost and schedule risk modelling and quantitative risk assessment tools.
  • Experience supporting programme level or strategic risk management processes.
