Location:Eemshaven Groningen region in Northern Netherlands. Candidates must be based within commuting distance or willing to relocate.

Schedule:Full-time site-based role supporting ongoing data centre projects in the Northern Netherlands.

About the Role

Vertiv is hiring a Project Manager to join our Benelux team supporting one of our largest global customers on a flagship data centre programme in Eemshaven Netherlands.

This hands-on role will see you lead the delivery of high-value projects (20M) across Thermal AC Power Switchgear Busbar and Infrastructure Solutions ensuring quality safety and efficiency from installation through to commissioning and handover.

Youll act as the on-site Vertiv representative coordinating contractors engineers and internal stakeholders to deliver outstanding results for mission-critical facilities. Youll be measured on revenue forecasting accuracy budget control escalation management and overall financial oversight of your projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of project delivery including planning installation start-up commissioning and testing.
• Coordinate daily activities between contractors technical teams and the customer.
• Own the financial and budget management of your projects ensuring accurate revenue forecasting and cost control.
• Monitor project progress resolve on-site issues and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Manage escalations effectively acting as the calm and decisive point of contact when challenges arise.
• Navigate complex stakeholder relationships with confidence including direct engagement with demanding clients who communicate in English.
• Conduct pre-site meetings provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Maintain documentation site reports and communication updates for stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement and deliver exceptional customer satisfaction on all projects.

What Youll Bring

Were looking for an experienced resilient and proactive Project Manager who thrives in fast-paced high-pressure technical environments. This role demands someone who handles escalations well takes ownership and is genuinely committed to delivering results even when things get tough.

Essential:

• Data centre experience. This is critical and non-negotiable.
• Proven track record managing high-value projects (20M budgets).
• Strong financial and budget management expertise with a focus on forecasting accuracy.
• Experience managing challenging stakeholders and navigating complex client relationships.
• Technical knowledge of both Power and Thermal systems (at minimum a solid foundational understanding).
• Fluent English communication skills (the client operates in English).
• A technical qualification in Engineering or Construction Management (degree or equivalent).
• 5 years experience managing complex electrical mechanical or data centre projects.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manage multiple workstreams on site.
• Strong IT skills and proficiency with MS Office and project management tools.
• A valid driving licence and willingness to work on site in Eemshaven.

Highly Desirable:

• Dutch language skills (beneficial for day-to-day team integration).
• Experience working with Vertiv or a direct competitor in the data centre infrastructure space.

Work Environment

This is a hands-on role within a dynamic and fast-growing data centre region. Youll work closely with contractors and technical teams on site ensuring that all installations meet Vertivs standards for quality safety and reliability.
