Job Summary
About the role
We are looking for a Principal Application Engineer for BG IC Solutions based at Nexperias headquarters in Nijmegen. This is a high-impact technical role. The successful candidate will act as the key interface between Nexperias product development teams and Tier-1 global customers serving at system / application level for next-generation Signal Chain solutions defining validation strategies and acting as the technical point of contact for portfolio products.
What you will do
- Define system-level validation requirements for signal chain products
- Provide expert technical support to Tier-1 customers including complex issue resolution
- Translate market trends and customer needs into detailed technical specifications
- Evaluate competitor solutions and define performance benchmarks
- Articulate product value through clear technical differentiation
- Support design-in activities with customers FAEs and sales teams
- Design and develop evaluation boards and reference platforms
- Contribute to datasheet reviews for accuracy and system alignment
- Participate in silicon validation identifying edge cases and performance limits
- Develop reference designs for key applications
- Deliver technical training to customers partners and internal teams
- Create application notes and technical documentation
- Support industry events demos and technical collateral development
What you will need
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 810 years of experience in application engineering system design or IC validation
- Strong expertise in analog hardware and interface/voltage translator devices
- Experience in semiconductor product development within Automotive Industrial or Consumer domains
- Customer-focused mindset with ability to work effectively in global teams
- Proven ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical leadership
- Knowledge of high-speed board design signal integrity and transmission lines
- Hands-on experience with PCB design tools and lab equipment (oscilloscopes analyzers)
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as ADS SPICE or similar
- Experience with scripting tools like Python or LabVIEW is a plus
- Experience in silicon validation under extreme and boundary conditions
- Familiarity with communication interfaces such as I2C I3C and SPI
- Strong communication skills with ability to produce clear technical documentation
