Job Summary

This postdoc project combines the two currently dominant research lines in the Addiction Development and Psychopathology (ADAPT) lab: personalizing cognitive bias modification (CBM) and tailoring treatment using ideographic symptom networks based on Ecological Momentary Assessment (EMA). The project is part of an NWO-XL grant awarded to Prof. Wiers which includes two PhD projects on improving the assessment of and new ways to change attentional and approach bias in addition to Prof. Wiers you collaborate with Dr. Mansueto who is expert on ideographic network analyses with the two PhD students on the project and possibly with other colleagues and students.

What will you do

  • Collect EMA data in people with substance use disorders;
  • Create ideographic networks based on these data;
  • Develop personalized version(s) of CBM based on these;
  • Test their efficacy using SCED designs;
  • Preregister studies and publish in peer-reviewed journals present on international conference(s);
  • Be actively involved in the ADAPT research group.

What can you offer

  • You have finished a PhD in experimental psychopathology preferably in addiction-related research and/or in EMA-based network analyses;
  • You have experience in setting up and analyzing and publishing relevant research;
  • You are a creative researcher who combines enthusiasm with precision who values open science.

In addition you could:

  • Have (some) clinical experience;
  • Be an excellent presenter of your research;
  • Have experience with AI for stimulus creation;
  • You are both a team player and self-steering.

What do we have to offer

The postdoc position is for 0.8fte (304 hours on 4 days) for 2 years (with some freedom to change the details). One option could be to combine it with a clinical training of one day in the week. You are expected to co-design run analyze and report the main study.

Where do you work

This postdoc will take place in the Department of Psychology of the University of Amsterdam world top 10 the highest ranked non-English speaking psychology department according to QS rankings. The ADAPT lab combines a good atmosphere with state-of-the-art work in addiction development and psychopathology research.
