Are you passionate about sustainable energy materials and thin-film technologies for batteriesAre you interested in combining materials science atomic layer deposition and electrochemistry in cutting-edge lithium- and sodium-ion battery research We are looking for2 PhD candidatestodesign and engineer key interfaces in lithium- and sodium-ion battery technologies while collaborating with other Dutch academic partners and companies.
Within the Plasma & Materials Processing group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) you will contribute to advance our growing research efforts inAtomic Scale Processing for next-generation energy devices. The central challenge of the research team is to design and engineer interfaces at the atomic scale by means of atomic layer deposition for green hydrogen production highly efficient metal halide perovskite-based photovoltaics and of course high energy density and safer batteries for e-mobility .
You will work in a highly collaborative environment within the Plasma & Materials Processing group embedded in TU/es strong Brainport ecosystem as well as tightly connected to other academic partners and industry through national research consortia ( and You are expected to contribute to scientific output supervise Bachelor and MSc students and actively collaborate with academic and industrial partners.
- Motivated and passionate researcher with a masters degree (or an equivalent university degree)in Chemistry Chemical Engineering (Applied) Physics or Materials Science.
- Ability to conducthigh qualityacademic research reflected in demonstratable outputs.
- Knowledge and expertise in thin film deposition (ALD CVD PVD) and material characterization
- Background knowledge in energy materials and/or battery technologies
- Demonstrated ability to perform high-quality independent research
- A team player who enjoys supervising Bachelor a highly internationaldynamicand interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent (written and verbal)proficiencyin Englishgood communication skills.

- Full-time employment for four years with an intermediate assessment after nine months. You will spend a minimum of 10% of your four-year employment on teaching tasks with a maximum of 15% per year of your employment.
