Live In or Live Out Nanny / Housekeeper / Family Assistant
A lovely family based in the centre of Amsterdam is seeking an experienced positive and proactive Nanny / Housekeeper / Family Assistant to join their household.
This is a long-term position for someone who genuinely enjoys working with children whilst also taking pride in helping a busy household run smoothly. The family are looking for a candidate with a strong muck-in attitude who naturally notices what needs doing and takes initiative without requiring constant direction.
The role will be a mixture of childcare housekeeping and family assistant duties with approximately three days focused on childcare and two days focused on household support and organisation.
Duties May Include:
- Sole/shared charge childcare
- Supporting childrens routines and development
- Nursery duties
- Childrens laundry and wardrobe management
- Family laundry and ironing
- Cooking healthy family meals
- Keeping the home organised and running smoothly
- Grocery shopping and household errands
- Packing and unpacking for family trips
- Booking travel and appointments
- General personal assistant support
- Liaising with household suppliers when required
- Maintaining high household standards and organisation
- Driving the familys cargo bike when needed
The family employ cleaners therefore this is not a heavy housekeeping role. Instead they are looking for someone who enjoys maintaining organisation ensuring everything is in its place and helping the household operate efficiently.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous nanny experience with newborns and young children
- Have a positive can-do attitude
- Be proactive and highly organised
- Be happy to muck in wherever needed
- Naturally notice tasks that need completing
- Be flexible and adaptable
- Be confident managing both childcare and household responsibilities
- Have excellent longevity in previous roles
- Be confident riding or willing to learn to ride a cargo bike
- Speak good English
- Have the legal right to work in the Netherlands (EU passport or ALREADY possess long term visa for Netherlands)
- Be looking for a long-term position with a family
Additional Information
- Live-in or live-out options available
- Based in Central Amsterdam
- Monday to Friday
- Approximately 45 hours per week
- Travel is not required although the family do spend extended periods away and flexibility to accompany them on occasion could be beneficial

Fluent German. Please note this is a strictly Non smoking position. Discretion and privacy is essential
