A multinational defence organisation sends its people all over the world and hosts high-profile events at home and abroad. This post supports the force protection team: it is the dedicated attention that travelling staff and event attendees get on safety and security matters.
What you would be doing
- Analysing the travel database to identify high-risk destinations and critical locations for staff on duty travel.
- Collecting and analysing security information from open sources classified reporting and local advisories to assess risk ahead of travel.
- Giving travellers comprehensive security briefings protocols local risks and mitigation tailored to the individual mission.
- Developing security plans for high-risk events and missions in line with organisational security policy.
- Running regular risk assessments and security audits and leading site surveys to find vulnerabilities at planned venues.
- Examining attendee lists for non-member participants and evaluating the counter-intelligence risk they carry.
- Preparing security briefs for senior approval and being present at venues during events to give oversight at registration and check-in.
- Coordinating security for high-profile events and external missions with local authorities law enforcement and partner agencies logistics site assessments and emergency response.
- Writing after-action reports and post-event analyses and turning them into lessons and historical security records.
- Briefing internal stakeholders at every level on security requirements risk management and operational priorities.
What you would bring
- At least five years in security administration risk management criminology public administration or industrial security including responsibility for planning and executing security operations for high-profile events international travel or multinational operations.
- At least three years planning and running security for major events involving very important persons senior leadership or large international operations.
- A recognised risk management certification for example project management professional or certified risk management professional or another relevant security qualification. Counter-terrorism or crisis management certification is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to collect analyse and interpret security data from open sources and other reporting and to turn it into briefings risk assessments and incident reports.
- Demonstrated ability to work with stakeholders at every level from senior leadership to local law enforcement.
- Advanced office tooling security databases and collaborative platforms plus confident open-source research.
- Fluent professional English.
This is a long engagement that renews year on year not a short project.
