Were seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Netherlands team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on mission-critical infrastructure delivering engineering excellence across operational facilities infrastructure upgrades and new projects while helping shape the future of digital infrastructure. Excellent spoken and written English is required with a preference for the Dutch language.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Engineer you will provide technical expertise across a broad range of mechanical systems supporting the design operation maintenance and optimisation of critical infrastructure within our data centres.

You will work closely with operations construction project management and engineering teams to deliver safe reliable and sustainable solutions that support our customers and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance design reviews and engineering expertise across cooling systems HVAC chilled water systems cooling towers liquid cooling technologies water treatment plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Assess existing mechanical infrastructure and support maintenance refurbishment and end-of-life replacement programmes.
• Develop scopes of work technical documentation engineering designs and project deliverables.
• Support engineering projects from concept and planning through implementation testing and operational handover.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful delivery of engineering initiatives.
• Identify and mitigate engineering risks while maintaining compliance with all safety environmental and engineering standards.
• Drive optimisation projects that improve efficiency reliability sustainability and overall data centre performance.
• Support commissioning troubleshooting root cause analysis and infrastructure testing activities.
• Champion Equinixs strong safety culture and commitment to operational excellence.

Qualifications & Background

• Proven experience across mechanical system design (particularly HVAC chilled water and cooling solutions) operations maintenance and project delivery.
• Experience within data centres or other mission-critical environments is highly desirable.
• We also welcome candidates from adjacent industries including pharmaceuticals manufacturing utilities healthcare transport infrastructure and other complex engineering environments.
• Experience gained within a mechanical engineering consultancy engineering design practice contractor commissioning organisation or end-user/operator environment is highly valued.
• Candidates with consultancy backgrounds who are looking to apply their expertise within a live operational environment are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles industry standards and best practices.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams contractors consultants and equipment vendors.
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent relevant industry experience.
• Excellent analytical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety quality and continuous improvement.

Dutch language skills are preferred but not essential.
