Job Summary
Operational analysis is the discipline of answering hard questions with evidence when the decision cannot wait for perfect data. This is a junior post inside that team: you would do the collection the collation and the analysis and present it back in a form that stands up to scrutiny.
It suits someone early in their analytical career who is genuinely comfortable with a messy data set and unbothered by working to a deadline the output here is often needed for a decision the same week.
What you would be doing
- Undertake data and operational analysis on complex problems often with large data sets and simple tools.
- Apply operational analysis techniques modelling what-if analysis and wargaming among them.
- Collect collate and analyse data across a range of sources and tools including Python and advanced spreadsheet work.
- Present findings concisely and logically so the method is as visible as the answer.
- Produce verified validated and consistent data sets under time pressure.
- Summarise results into dashboards presentations and written reports.
- Support the team in developing and updating documentation and reports.
What you would bring
- Recent experience conducting analysis that fed a real decision.
- Ability to review and analyse large data sets with commercial and in-house tools.
- Working Python expert-level spreadsheet skills and confidence with dashboard tooling.
- A methodical habit verified data stated assumptions reproducible steps.
- Clear written and spoken English.
The work is full time on site in The Hague.
