Insurance Team Lead- Insurtech Company Netherlands

Our client is one of Europes fastest-growing InsurTech companies combining deep insurance expertise with innovative technology to create a more efficient digital and customer-focused insurance experience.

As they continue to expand their operations in the Netherlands they are looking for a Claims Handling Team Lead (m/f/d) to build and lead their new in-house claims function for car insurance.

This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage and play a key role in shaping the future of the business. You will have the opportunity to build processes from the ground up establish best practices develop a team and directly influence how claims operations are structured in the Netherlands.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-growing scale-up environment taking ownership and creating lasting impact.

• Build and establish processes and standards for handling and assessing motor insurance claims including material damage bodily injury third-party liability and own damage (MTPL/CASCO)
• Define claims handling guidelines frameworks and best practices including reserve management processes
• Develop and implement claims cost control and fraud prevention initiatives
• Lead coach and support a team of claims handlers and assessors
• Build and manage relationships with external partners including loss adjusters medical experts and other service providers
• Define requirements and contribute to the development of digital claims workflows AI-supported fraud detection and process documentation
• Work closely with software developers business analysts data scientists and insurance experts in a multidisciplinary international team
• Take ownership of building and scaling the Dutch claims operation from the beginning

• 510 years of professional experience in non-life insurance claims handling and operations
• Strong experience with motor insurance claims (MTPL and CASCO)
• Native Dutch language skills and professional fluency in English
• Proven leadership experience and the ability to build and develop a team
• Strong project management skills with experience managing longer-term initiatives
• Ownership mindset with the ability to work independently and drive results
• Comfortable working in a start-up/scale-up environment where processes are still being created
• Pragmatic and solution-oriented approach with the ability to challenge existing ways of working
• Interest in technology digital transformation and innovative insurance solutions
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
