Warner Chappell Music (WCM) is seeking an ambitious and value-driven General Manager (GM) to lead its Benelux operations in Amsterdam. Reporting directly to the President of Warner Music Central Europe & Warner Chappell Music Benelux the GM will drive the P&L and strategically grow WCM NLs market share all while championing our cultural values: Curiosity Collaboration and Commitment.


This role requires a leader who is operationally savvy yet possesses a strong creative lens to drive the core business. The GM will work to ensure that our deep administrative expertise and creative efforts work in concert to maximize opportunities for our songwriters.


Key Responsibilities

1. Creative Exploration & Curiosity
  • Creative & A&R Strategy (Curiosity): Drive a culture of curiosity and innovation across creative and A&R functions integrating both traditional A&R activities; sourcing signing and scalable songwriter development with a creative POV that explores new genres and non-traditional deals.
  • Market & Digital Vision (Curiosity): Proactively analyze market trends digital platforms and consumption shifts using data and local insights to translate new insights into actionable culturally relevant creative and commercial strategies.
  • Creative Amplification & Support (Collaboration): Provide strategic guidance to the A&R team to ensure bold signing decisions are matched with a strategy to amplify songwriters to drive success and growth of the overall business.

2. Commercial Growth & Strategic Commitment
  • Financial Stewardship (Commitment): Full ownership of the WCM NL P&L demonstrating unwavering commitment to achieving ambitious commercial growth targets to budget and provide accurate forecasting.
  • Operational Excellence (Commitment): Oversee all administrative functions ensuring high standards of compliance and efficiency. Exhibit commitment to WCMs local and global strategies ensuring the long-term health and stability of the business.
  • Administration & Compliance: Ensure the Administration teams effectiveness leveraging their expertise and deep local relationships with the local collection society.

3. Team Development & Collaboration
  • Cross-Functional Leadership (Collaboration): Act as the key facilitator fostering seamless collaboration between the A&R Sync Production Music and Administration teams to ensure all creative output is efficiently monetized and administered.
  • Stakeholder Engagement (Collaboration): Serve as the principal external face of WCM NL. Build and nurture powerful collaborative relationships with songwriters managers key partners (e.g. streaming services production houses) and the Global Leadership team at WCM.
  • Internal Stakeholder Engagement (Collaboration): Work with Finance and the local WMG teams for best practices and share knowledge.
  • Culture Building: Lead mentor and inspire the team embodying WCMs values and fostering an inclusive high-performance culture that encourages open communication and mutual respect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum 5 years of senior-level experience in Publishing with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity managing and mentoring a team.
  • Exceptional strategic and strong commercial mindset understanding the music industrys revenue streams and business models and demonstrating a proven ability to drive revenue and manage large budgets effectively.
  • Outstanding leadership and relationship management skills coupled with the ability to lead negotiate and close contracts with key external partners.
