Commercial Asset Manager - Solar

This is a specialist technical services and asset management business in utility scale solar and part of a major listed European renewable energy group. Founded in 2008 and active across seven European countries it manages around 2 GWp of solar under asset management and provides operations and maintenance across more than 500 plants. The business is now building out its presence in the Netherlands and this is the first dedicated Asset Manager based in the Dutch office.

The opportunity

You will be the person on the ground in the Netherlands trusted to run the commercial and financial side of the portfolio end to end. It is a role with visibility autonomy and a clear path to grow as new assets and technologies come into scope.

What you will do

  • Take commercial ownership of the Dutch solar portfolio managing relationships and stakeholder engagement across the parks
  • Oversee the financial and technical performance of the assets from budgets and liquidity planning through to cost control
  • Monitor income and expenditure across the operating companies and produce clear reporting for owners investors and banks
  • Manage operations maintenance and service contracts working closely with technical colleagues
  • Handle compliance activities and liaise with public authorities and the energy regulators in the Netherlands
  • Manage insurance and warranty matters on behalf of the project companies
  • Organise and follow up shareholder meetings and coordinate with tax advisors auditors and plant managers
  • Work closely with the central team as the portfolio expands into Denmark and into wind

What they are looking for

  • A financial or economic background with the confidence to work across both the commercial and technical sides of asset management
  • Around two years or more in the renewable energy sector at a mid to senior level ideally in solar or wind asset management
  • Experience dealing with insurers banks accountants and landowners
  • Familiarity with the Dutch energy authorities and regulatory environment
  • Company management experience and the confidence to take ownership and work independently
  • Fluent Dutch and English

Preferred experience

  • Exposure to both solar and wind assets
  • Experience supporting a portfolio across more than one country
  • Danish language given the Denmark assets coming into scope
