Someone who loves collaboration and who isnt afraid to push back when the users interest is at be shaping the first thing millions of travelers see when they think about their next trip with Air France or KLM. No pressure but kind of a big role also comes with the occasional (and much appreciated) trip to Parijs.

What are you going to do

Product Designers design the 10 B2C digital channels of Air France and KLM. Think of the website apps self-service kiosks at the airport and the onboard portal. They are specialized in translating user research and business needs into structured complex (or super simple) pixel perfect screens that abide by the style and brand guidelines. Although they are part of the broader Design Team they are embedded in the agile product teams. As such they need to understand technical environments and limitations to challenge them.

The scope of this role encompasses all pages related to acquisition for both Air France and KLM including their homepages and travel guides and a few more e.g. the entertainment job is to help users choose a destination or find the best deal for their next trip by displaying inspiring and relevant content.

The Air France and KLM websites have technically been merged. This means we have one homepage and one travel guide with two distinct brands both representing the showroom of the products and services of our two inspiring guiding and personalized touchpoints for our users is your ultimate goal whether theyre searching for information about our destinations services or booking their next challenge is to prioritize the needs of various stakeholders while also considering the unique needs of our diverse users. At the same time you will need to create a flexible and scalable design that showcases our products and destinations.

Core responsibilities

  • Own the design vision for all web acquisition touchpoints across Air France and KLM homepages travel guides (including our AI destination recommender) landing pages best deals pages
  • Translate user research business needs and data insights into clear scalable and inspiring design solutions for two distinct brands.
  • Drive A/B testing initiatives in collaboration with product and analytics teams using experimentation as a tool to validate and improve your designs.
  • Assist in the transition from SEO to design support (e.g. guidelines).
  • Contribute to bring stakeholders closer to design thinking.
  • Challenge technical limitations and business decisions when user experience is at stake and back it up with solid rationale prototypes and data.
  • Collaborate daily with product teams Digital Marketing Design System UX Writers and Content Designers and Researchers across two locations and cultures.

  • You co-create with other designers researchers and copywriters and can facilitate workshops with stakeholders and developers when needed.

Where do you land

Youre offered a sweet spot in the creative and fun Air France KLM Design Team location the Netherlands (Amstelveen). We consist of 60 professionals in user research visual design interaction design service design UX writing and content writing. Were ambitious skilled and devoted to making a real difference in our customers travel become part of the Inspire & Book squad (10 team members) and report to its Design Manager. The other members of your squad are either Product or Service Designers and are working on topics ranging from the Booking Flow to the information Design Team works from 2 locations (Amstelveen and Paris airport) so you may expect a vibrant mix of French Dutch and other cultures.

Your profile

You have 5 years of experience as a product designer ideally in a complex digital environment. Youre comfortable navigating large organizations and aligning stakeholders who dont always bring both craft and conviction: Your designs are sharp but you can also walk into a room present your thinking and bring people along. You know how to use data and user insights to make your case and youre just as comfortable co-creating in a workshop as you are going heads-down on a complex spend as much time aligning and co-creating as you will in Figma and youre totally fine with that.

Some must haves:

  • Based in the Netherlands
  • Bachelors or Masters in design or equivalent professional experience
  • 5 years of experience as a product designer
  • Proficient in Figma
  • Fluent in English (Dutch or French is a plus)
  • Strong experience in user research (user testing A/B testing surveys)
  • Experienced in co-creation methods
  • Previous experience in a large company is a plus
  • Previous experience designing AI experiences is also a plus.
