Job Description

PURPOSE

The Business Line Manager is responsible for defining and realizing short- and long-term business ambitions and revenue growth in a defined Business Line:

• Develops a dedicated product strategy
• Is responsible for the Strategic Business Line plan
• Develops and supports the customer base in the assigned market segment(s)
• Creates alliances with Clinical research institutes to drive innovation
• Maintains plan for forecasting targeting and attaining sales
• Establishes and grows relationships with relevant partners
• Monitors product life cycle and designs solutions for potential problems
• Prepares customer requirements documents for new products
• Designs business cases for new products
• Manages the Profit and Loss for the assigned Business Line(s)

RESULT AREAS OF THE FUNCTION

Key activities:

• Identifies new and/or different applications and requirements within the assigned market segment(s)
• Builds long term product roadmap and strategy for assigned Business Line
• Manages Products in line with the strategy
• Builds a strong relationship with strategic customers to understand long-term market trends emerging applications and customer needs
• Analyzes the competitors market position and strategy product portfolio and roadmap
• Analyzes internal strength and weaknesses and external opportunities and threats
• Creates technology innovation and product roadmap together with Research & Development
• Builds a strong market position founded on sustainable competitive advantages
• Keeps marketing product and application knowledge up to date
• Educates and supports the Sales and Customer Support team
• Builds strong relationships with the customers in the assigned segment and develops new customer base
• Drives and supports the Sales Managers during the sales process and during the acquisition of new client-specific development projects (Application Specific Contracts ASC)
• Prepares input for short-term and medium-term revenue planning
• Provides detailed forecasts for the Busine Line Account(s)
• Reports regularly to the Management Team on opportunities and bottlenecks
• Makes and presents (financial) business cases for new product developments to extend the standard product portfolio or for (strategic) customer-specific product developments
• Manages and monitors customer-specific development projects till completion
• Negotiates drafts and arranges corporate approval of development and supply agreements
• Is constantly looking for opportunities to reduce the cost increasing the margins by redesigns Operational Excellence and new manufacturing technologies

GENERAL

• Has a basic understanding of applicable regulatory guidelines like ISO 9001 and ISO 13485
• Signing authority according to Teledyne DALSA directives
• Access to relevant software and network locations by way of authorization
• Access to relevant sales data
• Signing authority for passing milestones on (customer-specific) development projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• At least five (Senior: ten) years of experience in Technology and/or Product sales preferably in X-ray and/or Imaging in the medical field
• Combines a technical background with strong commercial skills
• Bachelor or Master degree in Physics Electrical Engineering Biomedical Engineering or Business Administration or at least five years of experience in an equivalent position
• Experience in operating in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
• Fluent in English both verbally and in writing
• Frequent international travel (up to 25%)
