About the team
The finance department of Thales Nederland consists of 50 team members organized in 2 different competence centers (clusters):
Shared Services Accounting Reporting & Controlling;
Bid & Project Industrial and Procurement Control (Business Control)
The Business Control department is responsible for the management accounting and program control of all the projects and the supply chain within Hengelo and need a Project Controller to support us in our challenging segment Systems & Solution located in Hengelo.
About your future job
As a key member of our team you will serve as the primary financial advisor and partner for the operations within your designated scope. Your role will encompass providing insightful financial guidance identifying and alerting stakeholders to potential risks and opportunities and actively participating in finance-related improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Financial Guidance: Serve as a strategic business partner offering financial insights and guidance to support decision-making within your area of responsibility.
Risk and Opportunity Management: Act as a primary alert promptly identifying and communicating both risks and opportunities related to projects and initiatives within your scope.
Continuous Improvement: Play an integral role in driving finance-related improvements collaborating cross-functionally to enhance processes and systems ultimately contributing to the organizations overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Effective Communication: Communicate financial challenges insights and recommendations clearly and effectively to relevant stakeholders fostering understanding and alignment across the organization.
Process Optimization: Ensure that financial processes are regularly reviewed updated and adapted to meet the evolving needs of a dynamic organization contributing to ongoing optimization and effectiveness.
The main tasks are:
Preparing reports budgeting forecasting and analysis and reporting to senior management of all costs and financial data for the projects you work on
Monitoring and challenge of project expenditures and deliveries on assigned programs/products
Evaluating monitoring and implementing policies practices and functional performance standards
Supporting annual budgets business plans and forecasts preparation
Supporting the preparation and presentation of our bids being a key member of the bid team
Ensuring financial integrity and adherence to processes (Chorus 2.0)
Supporting internal improvement and change projects
Being a team player on various organizational levels
Why youd be a good match
You have Bachelor or Master degree in Finance or strongly related to Finance relevant work experience is appreciated. You have an affinity with technical processes and a good knowledge of MS Office. You have the ability to understand complex processes and demonstrate a strong financial acumen.
You have excellent communication skills (English and Dutch French would be appreciated) including the ability to convey complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner to diverse audiences fostering understanding and alignment. You are curious by nature and can grow into a professional role as business partner. You can show agility and resilience in navigating change and ambiguity coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a continuous improvement mindset.
Knowledge of ERP-systems (Oracle/SAP) are a big advantage.
