Pre-Serial Logistics Engineer
Job Summary
Purpose of the Position:
The Pre-Serial Logistics Engineer is responsible for planning coordinating and ensuring the execution of all logistics activities during the project phase from project nomination until SOP and ramp-up stabilization.
The position serves as the logistics interface between Engineering Purchasing Production Planning Manufacturing Engineering Quality Suppliers and Launch managers ensuring that the correct material is available at the right time in the correct quantity and with the latest engineering status for all prototype validation pre-series and launch activities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate all pre-serial logistics activities for new product launches.
- Ensure material availability for prototype PV validation pre-series and SOP builds according to project milestones.
- Review and understand product structures (BOM) engineering changes (ECN/ECR) revision levels indexes and material status.
- Participate actively in Part List Meetings and monitor open actions until closure.
- Coordinate engineering changes with Engineering and ensure implementation within the required project timing.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding tooling readiness engineering modifications material availability production planning delivery schedules and recovery plans.
- Coordinate closely with Purchasing to secure the availability of components throughout the project phase.
- Work with Production Planning to ensure capacity and material planning are aligned with project milestones.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering regarding build schedules and launch readiness.
- Monitor logistics risks and proactively escalate potential shortages or delays that may impact project timing.
- Participate in project milestone reviews and report logistics readiness status.
- Maintain and update logistics action plans related to project launches.
- Support project ramp-up activities until production stabilization after SOP.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within pre-serial logistics processes.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Industrial Engineering Logistics Engineering Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Automotive Logistics Supply Chain Industrial Engineering Launch Management or Project Logistics.
- Experience managing logistics activities for new product launches in the automotive industry.
- Experience working in a cross-functional and international environment.
Languages
- English: Professional working proficiency.
- French: Professional working proficiency.
- Spanish is considered an advantage.
