Job Summary

United Exports (UE) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented In-Field Quality Controller to join our Technical and Supply Chain team in Northern Morocco (Larache / Moulay Bousselham region).

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about agriculture fresh produce and quality management. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that fruit harvested packed and dispatched from our production partners consistently meets UE and customer quality standards.

Key Performace Outputs
Quality Control at Source (Farm & Packhouse)
  • Conduct fruit quality inspections during harvesting and packing operations.
  • Verify compliance with UE packing instructions and customer specifications.
  • Monitor grading standards reject management and pack-out execution.
  • Identify and report quality deviations packing defects or presentation issues.
  • Ensure packaging materials labelling and palletisation comply with required standards.
Grower & Packhouse Coordination
  • Maintain daily communication with growers and packhouse teams.
  • Confirm harvest schedules packing plans shipment volumes and operational readiness.
  • Escalate quality concerns and operational risks promptly.
  • Support growers in understanding and implementing UE quality standards.
Logistics & Dispatch Monitoring
  • Monitor product flow from packhouse through dispatch.
  • Verify loading conditions pallet integrity and shipment documentation.
Documentation & Compliance Support
  • Assist growers during audits and certification processes.
  • Support compliance with quality and food safety requirements.
Communication Reporting & Feedback
  • Provide structured daily reports including photographic evidence and quality updates.
  • Communicate potential quality logistics or customer risks in real time.
  • Supply valuable field insights to support commercial and technical decision-making.
  • Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
General Support
  • Assist with technical operational and commercial projects as required.
  • Support investigations relating to customer complaints and quality claims.
  • Help maintain and protect UE brand standards throughout the supply chain.
International Quality Monitoring (Southern Hemisphere Season)

During the Southern Hemisphere season (approximately October to January) the successful candidate will:
  • Support quality monitoring of imported fruit from South Africa Peru and other supply origins.
  • Travel periodically to Europe and/or the United Kingdom to perform destination quality inspections.
  • Validate handling practices and align source and destination quality assessments.
  • Provide detailed market feedback to support ongoing quality improvements and business decisions.
  • Participate in structured travel assignments of approximately two weeks at a time depending on operational requirements.

Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Relevant secondary education (minimum requirement).
  • Tertiary qualification in Agriculture Agronomy Food Science or a related discipline will be advantageous.
  • Previous exposure to fresh produce agriculture farming or packhouse operations is beneficial.
  • Experience within an international import/export or fresh produce business will be a strong advantage.

Technical Skills
  • Basic understanding of fresh produce quality standards (berries experience advantageous).
  • Ability to identify quality defects non-conformities and packing deviations.
  • Basic computer proficiency including: Microsoft Excel WhatsApp reporting Digital photography and reporting tools
  • Valid drivers licence.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
