Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Manufacturing Engineer II where youll contribute to excellence in production processes and equipment this role youll work across functions to ensure high-quality manufacturing operations while contributing to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer. Youll manage technical projects implement process improvements and provide essential support to manufacturing operations. Responsible for supporting the design modification and release of plastic components and injection molds at the Tijuana site. Works collaboratively with Engineering Tooling Manufacturing and R&D teams to develop refurbish and improve tooling solutions that support new product introduction (NPI) business continuity and process optimization.
REQUIREMENTS:
Supports mold design refurbishment projects business sustainment and product transfers.
Updates and generates technical drawings for plastic parts injection molds tooling components and machinery parts.
Performs reverse engineering of plastic components and injection molds.
Submits Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) through the designated system.
Collaborates with R&D to propose and implement drawing modifications.
Works with suppliers on quotations for new molds refurbishment projects and engineering changes.
Supports supplier audits related to tooling and machining processes.
Identifies and proposes cost reduction initiatives related to machining and tooling expenses.
Manages workload and assigned projects to ensure timely completion.
Ensures compliance with internal quality standards and EHS requirements.
Verifies that the tooling workshop maintains adequate tools and equipment for proper performance.
Applies Thermo Fisher leadership principles and ensures adherence to the 4 Is Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
Supports Engineering Management in specific projects in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 standards.
