Job Summary

Job Description

The purchasing intern supports GM Purchasing Team by acting as the first point of contact for contract extensions capacity management metrics reporting and expenditure tracking. This role ensures timely coordination with suppliers Program Teams buyers and Conduent while providing analytical support for commercial impacts capacity readiness and cost benchmarking. The position plays a key role in maintaining purchasing data accuracy and tracking program changes.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Extensions

  • Act as the first point of contact from GM Purchasing to suppliers and Program Teams for contract extension requests.
  • Assess contract extension requests to determine commercial or program impact.
  • For noimpact cases submit requests to Conduent to extend contracts.
  • For impact cases request and consolidate required information from suppliers (e.g. drivers of impact 1804s 1810s supporting documentation).
  • Perform initial analysis and provide input to buyers and the Commodity Team.

Capacity Tickets

  • Serve as the primary Purchasing contact for supplier capacity tickets related to current production.
  • Support capacity ticket management for PreSOP programs.
  • Review and validate capacity information with the responsible buyer.
  • Request and follow up on required updates with Conduent after confirmation.

Metrics and Reporting

  • Pull consolidate and analyze purchasing and commodity data.
  • Prepare and share weekly metrics updates with the Commodity Team to support decisionmaking and tracking.

Expenditure File Management

  • Maintain and update monthly expenditure files to reflect changes in part numbers pricing volumes and sourcing status.
  • Perform cleanup and validation of Commodity Team (CT) expenditure data to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Change Requests (CRs) and Program Communications

  • Track Change Requests (CRs) program changes EVs uplift and related commercial impacts.
  • Coordinate followups with buyers and crossfunctional teams to ensure timely closure and communication.

The purchasing intern will report directly to the CT Leader and indirectly to the Global Commodity Manager.
