POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Training Specialist is responsible for designing planning and delivering effective technical and nontechnical training programs that support new product introductions operational readiness and workforce capability development. This role ensures associates acquire the knowledge skills and behaviors required to perform safely efficiently and consistently across manufacturing operations.
Training is delivered through classroom instruction laboratory environments production floor activities and digital platforms. The Specialist partners closely with Operations Safety Quality Engineering and Subject Matter Experts to maintain current relevant training content; track learning progress; and ensure training transfer to the job. Through standardized learning strategies and continuous improvement this role directly supports operational excellence compliance and business performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Always work with Safety Quality & Respect in mind demonstrating the value of training as a driver of operational performance compliance and workforce engagement.
- Create and manage training schedules for all departments; track participation completion and outcomes; and generate reports to support leadership decisionmaking.
- Deliver onboarding and refresher training for new hires and existing associates using appropriate instructional methods aligned to audience and learning objectives.
- Collect analyze and evaluate feedback and performance data from employees and leaders to identify skill gaps and training needs.
- Remain current on learning methodologies by attending seminars workshops and meetings applying best practices to future training initiatives.
- Recruit onboard coach and evaluate new Trainers including delegation of training activities and performance reviews.
- Promote training opportunities across the organization clearly communicating value expectations and benefits to drive participation.
- Communicate scheduled training events and actively track associate progress and completion.
- Recommend training materials tools and delivery methods; manage training equipment facilities and the assigned training budget.
- Lead teams of instructors in the design development and delivery of technical training programs supporting Vertiv personnel.
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders to continuously gather input and feedback ensuring curriculum relevance and evolution.
- Design training programs that ensure effective transfer of learning to the job including prework instructorled sessions handson labs assessments postwork and onthejob training plans.
- Support development of a comprehensive organizational training strategy including technical nontechnical onboarding refresher new product and product enhancement training.
- Assist trainers in developing quarterly and annual technical training calendars aligned to business demand.
- Implement and sustain a TraintheTrainer certification program to ensure consistent delivery standards.
- Establish and maintain technical skill assessment tools to enable customized learning paths and improved team performance.
- Develop and maintain standard work for the Learning and Development journey to support scalability and consistency.
- Manage and continuously improve technical learning centers.
- Apply Adult Learning Theory eLearning and blended learning methodologies to improve training effectiveness and learner experience.
- Develop and execute an eLearning strategy (webinars video selfpaced ondemand) to expand training reach and efficiency.
- Leverage the Learning Management System (LMS) to deploy track and report on global training initiatives and certification programs.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on training quality effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure readiness for internal and external audits.
- Improve training compliance with all safety quality and regulatory requirements.
- Clearly explain and demonstrate procedures to operators to ensure understanding and correct execution.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong time management public speaking problemsolving and written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in word processing presentation and data analysis tools.
- Experience operating instructional media and training equipment.
- Knowledge of traditional and modern training methodologies and techniques.
- Strong organizational leadership and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and analyze data to drive decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate learning needs and present effective performance solutions.
- High analytical capability to resolve complex technical human and administrative challenges.
- Ability to motivate influence and coach individuals without direct reporting authority.
- Experience delivering engaging technical content in classroom and handson environments.
- Experience with LMS platforms survey tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience designing technical lab environments for power thermal and data center technologies.
- Proven experience partnering with senior leadership to align training strategies with business objectives.
- Experience engaging and managing Subject Matter Experts to support effective training delivery.
- Background in Learning & Development including learning architecture frameworks and instructional methodologies.
- Familiarity with blended learning tools and technologies.
- Experience with IT best practice frameworks (ITIL LEAN Oracle) and Operational Excellence methodologies.
