How do you add value to the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer designs develops and tests mechanical systems intended to automate industrial processes. The engineer applies principles of physics and mechanics along with industry regulations and standards to solve problems and develop machinery systems and industrial processes.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelors degree in engineering or Science.
• Certifications/Courses: Training in Engineering Management Product Management or Automation (preferred).
• Language: Advanced English (required).
• Passport and Visa Required.
• Availability to travel: Mexico and the USA.

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of experience designing industrial machinery and systems.
• Experience designing and manufacturing automated machinery and systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and safety standards for industrial machinery.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools engineering software and technical calculations.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Experience focused on material handling (palletizing cells machine tending handling systems) and associated mechanical aspects (gripper design layout design conveyors buffers dosing systems pallets and positional repeatability).
• Experience in assembly system design (insertion screwdriving riveting) is desirable.
• Additional value placed on experience with welding tooling design and the complete process (processing datum drawings identifying clamping points and unit design).
• Knowledge of manufacturing standards for industrial machinery and components.

Responsibilities

• Designs mechanical systems and components in accordance with industry standards and with a focus on meeting the customers minimum specifications. Performs technical calculations and selects components develops mathematical and 2D/3D models conducts simulations and analyzes variables to create reliable solutions.
• Develops mechanical schematics and drawings fluid power engineering documents and plant layouts. Defines motion sequences and participates in describing and conceptualizing the manufacturing process for which the systems and/or components will be developed. Creates standards and templates to reduce design and manufacturing time.
• Creates and manages the appropriate documentation throughout the design development and validation processes in accordance with company standards. Contributes to the continuous improvement of internal processes generates supporting evidence proposes new processes and ensures the quality of the final product.
• Analyzes and understands the manufacturing process covered by the project as well as customer data and requirements to provide the appropriate solution. Participates in the ideation conceptualization cost estimation and definition of the companys business offerings related to the engineers area of expertise.
