Job Summary
The Logistics Specialist serves as Movado Groups primary operational resource for transportation and logistics governance across Mexico and LATAM. The role provides end-to-end visibility of inbound and outbound logistics execution monitors partner performance manages exceptions validates logistics billing and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to protect service levels cost control and business continuity.
This role is critical in the future multi-partner model where inbound freight outbound distribution 3PL warehousing SAP/WMS execution and order-to-cash dependencies require stronger internal coordination and governance.
- Oversee inbound logistics execution in all international lanes with the inbound partners including finished goods packaging and POSM flows.
- Follow up on inbound shipment status cut-offs with origin document sharing booking creation shipment tracking and arrival planning.
- Coordinate with internal teams freight forwarders customs brokers carriers and logistics partners to support timely product availability.
- Monitor customs release-related activities including documentation follow-up MVE process coordination duty payment follow-up and escalation of delays when applicable.
- Support KPI and SLA monitoring for inbound logistics partners including lead time service reliability exceptions and cost performance.
- Oversee outbound and last-mile partner performance across local and national distribution flows including deliveries to points of sale and customer locations.
- Monitor delivery execution track & trace visibility POD recovery failed deliveries returns coordination and service exceptions.
- Support outbound partner governance including KPI reviews SLA monitoring rate card reviews issue escalation and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate reverse logistics pickup visibility waybill creation for return recollection when applicable return track & trace and missing return follow-up.
- Ensure transportation execution aligns with customer commercial and operational requirements.
- Act as the operational control point for logistics visibility across inbound outbound carrier and partner flows.
- Monitor operational dashboards reports and logistics KPIs to identify emerging risks before they impact customers or service levels.
- Escalate logistics risks shipment delays missing PODs service disruptions customs delays or carrier issues to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain logistics issue trackers action logs and follow-up visibility for open items and recurring service failures.
- Coordinate with Customer Operations and Warehouse Operations when logistics issues affect order availability customer delivery billing or inventory visibility.
- Review and validate transportation invoices freight charges import costs rate card application accessorial charges and service-related billing exceptions.
- Support monthly billing audits and reconciliation for logistics partners including inbound and outbound services.
- Monitor freight spending route performance and transportation cost trends to identify cost improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Finance AR/Credit and Operations to clarify cost discrepancies and support accurate expense recognition.
- Support rate card reviews negotiations and cost optimization initiatives with logistics partners.
- Coordinate logistics-related claims follow-up for damaged lost delayed or missing shipments in collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- Follow up on security-related transportation incidents route deviations high-value shipment exceptions and insurance documentation requirements.
- Maintain visibility of open claims required evidence partner responses and closure actions.
- Escalate high-risk shipment incidents according to the agreed governance and escalation process.
- Coordinate with IT SAP Customer Operations 3PL and logistics partners when system or interface issues affect logistics execution shipment status inventory movement or delivery visibility.
- Support troubleshooting of logistics-related interface issues including shipment data sales interface exceptions billing errors MIGO-related follow-up and other operational data inconsistencies when applicable.
- Participate in SAP/WMS/logistics testing stabilization and issue-resolution activities related to transportation and partner execution.
- Support rest-of-LATAM logistics monitoring and coordination as the regional operating model evolves.
- Support future LATAM export / FTZ readiness activities including process mapping logistics requirements documentation flow and partner coordination.
- Partner with Global Intercompany Logistics and regional stakeholders to support inventory flow export planning and logistics visibility across LATAM markets.
- Provide operational insights to leadership to support future Mexico / LATAM scalability.
- Provide functional guidance priorities and follow-up to Logistics Coordinator and supporting resources for logistics-related activities.
- Coordinate day-to-day communication between logistics partners Customer Operations Warehouse Operations IT/SAP Finance/Credit and Commercial stakeholders.
- Support weekly/monthly operational reviews partner governance meetings SLA reviews and continuous improvement discussions.
- Identify recurring operational issues and recommend corrective actions process improvements or escalation paths.
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Logistics Business Industrial Engineering International Trade or a related field preferred.
- 35 years of experience in logistics transportation supply chain customer operations international trade or distribution environments.
- Experience working with carriers freight forwarders customs brokers third-party logistics providers and transportation operations preferred.
- Working knowledge of SAP EDI/API transactions WMS interfaces order-to-delivery processes and operational reporting preferred.
- Strong analytical problem-solving follow-up and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities investigate issues drive resolution and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with internal stakeholders and external logistics partners.
- Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
