Import & Warehouse Manager
Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to lead Finished Goods Warehouse and Import operations across Mexico ensuring the safe compliant and efficient end-to-end flow of finished goodsfrom factories and import processes through regional warehouses and last-mile delivery to customers. Working in close partnership with Trade and RTM teams the role oversees both JTI and thirdpartyoperated import activities ensures compliance with corporate and local safety quality security sustainability legal and regulatory requirements and maintains Warehouse Playbook standards. It also drives continuous improvement and operational excellence while contributing to the broader community through the sharing and implementation of best practices and support for global initiatives and projects.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Lead the end-to-end flow of finished goodsincluding importation transportation receiving storage packing shipping and last-mile deliverywhile ensuring compliance with established quality security and safety standards. Oversee inventory management by monitoring stock levels conducting regular audits and optimizing inventory turnover. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance warehousing import and broader supply chain operations ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers while maintaining full compliance with all applicable local legal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and develop the Warehouse and Import team ensuring effective training performance management productivity and adherence to company policies. Manage relationships and contractual agreements with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) while maintaining high operational standards in line with the Warehouse Playbook. Develop track and report LE and ASP budgets supported by regular ME and OL updates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers vendors and distributors to ensure timely product availability. Collaborate closely with key internal functionsincluding but not limited to Finance Legal Procurement Sales and Customer Serviceto enable seamless coordination effective communication and aligned execution across the supply chain.
- Measure and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) across warehousing and import operations. Analyze relevant data to identify trends and develop strategies that reduce costs improve operational efficiency and enhance overall supply chain performance.
- Promote a safe and healthy workplace by taking reasonable care of themselves and others complying with all applicable legal and JTI health and safety requirements and consistently following established controls and safe working practices. Complete required training and promptly report incidents near misses hazards and unsafe behaviors taking corrective action whenever possible and within their authority.
Requirements
- University degree preferably in Engineering Supply Chain Logistics or a related field.
- At least five years of experience supervising warehouse and logistics operations including continuous improvement projects or equivalent operational experience. Customer Service experience is an advantage.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end warehouse customs and supply chain operations including inbound logistics put-away storage strategies order preparation and picking transportation coordination documentation stock accuracy and outbound logistics.
- Experience overseeing warehouse operations managed through third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Knowledge of operational excellence and losselimination methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma IWS or similar.
- Proven leadership and people-management capabilities within large and complex operations.
- Experience in financial management governance and project management including PMO and Agile ways of working.
- Proficiency in MS Office ERP and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
