HSE Coordinator

Job Summary

To support this mission Syngentas Seeds R&D is seeking a HSES Coordinator in Puerto Vallarta. This role will support on:
- Establish implement and maintain the HSES management system at Syngenta Puerto Vallarta.
- Implement global regional and local HSES standards guidelines and regulations related to Syngenta Seeds operations.
- Coordinate manage support execute and oversee health safety and environmental programs standards and processes to ensure health safety and regulatory compliance in the workplace.
- Provide HSES guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
Accountabilities
- Assure compliance with all company local state and federal regulatory requirements applicable to the site administration and HSES.
- Responsible for administering Syngentas Health Safety and Environmental Security system (through standards) that supports site operations and business continuity; this includes HSE policies Syngentas HSES Code of Practices and other company guidelines.
- Set up HSES controls to comply with site requirements including safety meetings incident investigations coordinating safety training and managing records retention as required by state and federal regulations.
- Schedule and supervise health safety and environmental testing and perform risk analysis.
- Responsible for risk management objectives and improvement plans occupational health programs and control of contractors and casual workers.
- Prepare HSES performance reports including statistics of incidents near misses and the observations program.
- Carry out internal audits to monitor corrective action plans and contribute to monitoring the implementation of improvement plans for risk control.
- Coordinate with the local Occupational Health area the medical aptitude analysis to carry out the clinical aptitude analysis for Syngenta field workers and employees.
- Coordinate the implementation of programs that involve employee participation in HSES activities in order to improve HSES behaviors and attitudes.
- Influence site leaders to maintain commitment to the prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses and to environmental stewardship.
- In collaboration with Syngenta Corporate Security function and the site Security SPOC create awareness regarding compliance with security measures and controls.
- Support security compliance activities (communications documentation basic checks) and escalate gaps/incidents through defined channels.
Qualifications :
Required
Knowledge experience & capabilities
- B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Working knowledge of HSE principles.
- Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (STPS SEMARNAT PROFEPA etc.). NFPA and OSHAs is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.
Critical knowledge
- Ability to use MS Office.
- Advanced Safety & Health Certificate (OSHA) required or ability to obtain such certificate within 6 months after hire.
Critical experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in HSE roles (analyst or supervisor) .
- Technical understanding of safety and environmental processes in an agricultural setting.
- Experience implementing HSE systems.

- Strong computer skills (MS Office SharePoint etc.).
- Ability to work in a team and communicate with individuals at all levels throughout the organization.
- Project management skills.
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
