As an EHS Specialist III youll provide expert guidance and leadership in environmental health safety and sustainability programs across the organization. Youll collaborate with teams at all levels to develop and implement comprehensive EHS management systems drive continuous improvement initiatives and create a strong safety-focused culture. This role combines strategic thinking with practical problem-solving to protect our employees environment and facilities while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for ensuring that site operations comply with company policies corporate standards and applicable Mexican laws and regulations related to legal permits facilities management and maintenance environmental health and safety and overall office operations. The role also supports the smooth day-to-day operation of the site and contributes to a safe compliant and positive work environment for colleagues.

What will you do

  • Serve as the primary owner for Environmental Health and Safety compliance in accordance with applicable Mexican laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that site facilities are maintained in optimal condition and meet quality safety and operational standards.
  • Act as the main point of contact with applicable legal and regulatory authorities including PROFEPA SEMARNAT SSA ISESALUD STPS Fire Department of the City of Tijuana and other relevant agencies.
  • Organize and coordinate EHS Facilities and Operations programs that support the colleague experience at the Tijuana site.
  • Lead the prevention and mitigation of occupational safety health environmental and facilities-related risks.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards including STPS requirements sanitary measures corporate procedures ISO 9001 standards and required colleague training.
  • Administer EHS programs and develop maintain and lead Business Continuity and disaster recovery planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal state local and corporate requirements related to health safety environmental and facilities programs.
  • Support global and local colleagues through effective communication in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Collaborate closely with local authorities service providers and internal stakeholders regarding site and office operations.
  • Lead EHS and Facilities onboarding for new colleagues.
  • Support the sites social responsibility programs and related initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the HR Business Partner Site Leader and other stakeholders to ensure site projects and initiatives are completed on time.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the work environment by identifying opportunities to improve safety compliance facilities and colleague experience.
  • Participate in ISO audits as needed respond to audit requests and follow up on findings corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education

  • Bachelors degree in industrial engineering environmental engineering occupational safety or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety programs or a similar role with comparable responsibilities.
  • Previous experience managing facilities regulatory compliance and site operations is preferred.
  • Experience leading projects process improvements or business continuity initiatives is preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Mexican regulations including applicable NOMs and STPS requirements.
  • Project management and leadership skills.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Spanish including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations in both languages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment with local and global teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • High level of discretion professionalism and accountability.
  • Dynamic proactive and service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders external service providers and regulatory authorities.
  • Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs and leading safety initiatives.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 and 27000 audit participation documentation and compliance.
  • Proficiency with digital document management tools.
  • English language proficiency: Ability to verbally communicate fluently write effective messages and reports understand detailed instructions and manuals in English.
