EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Graduate of an ABA or foreign equivalent law school member of a bar in good standing eligible to practice law in jurisdiction.
Minimum of 15 years legal experience or an equivalent combination of education training or experience.
ASSISTANT REGIONAL COMPLIANCE COUNSEL AMERICAS
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Regional Compliance Counsel Americas will support the Regional Compliance Counsel Americas in overseeing Jabils Ethics and Compliance program throughout the United States Latin America and Canada.
This hybrid position will be based at Jabils Guadalajara location the companys largest site in the region and will require approximately 50% on-site presence. The Assistant Regional Compliance Counsel will report to the Regional Compliance Counsel Americas.
The position will serve as a trusted advisor to Guadalajara site and regional leadership and corporate functions assess and investigate compliance-related matters provide guidance on remediation and risk mitigation and deliver ethics and compliance training to employees and leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain an on-site presence at Jabils Guadalajara location approximately 50% of the time and serve as a trusted advisor to site and regional leadership.
- Assess and triage compliance-related allegations and concerns arising throughout the Americas region.
- Lead end-to-end internal investigations involving matters such as fraud financial conflicts of interest corruption theft and other potential violations of law or company policy..
- Provide oversight direction and legal guidance for investigations conducted by members of the regional Ethics and Compliance team.
- Present investigation findings and recommendations to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Help ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in coordination with a broad group of stakeholders including Operations Human Resources Finance Global Security and senior business leadership. Provide ethics and compliance guidance to Jabil regional leadership
- Collaborate with Operations Human Resources Finance Global Security Legal and senior business leadership on compliance matters and investigations.
- Develop and support appropriate remediation plans risk assessments and corrective actions arising from investigations or identified compliance risks.
- Design and implement compliance controls employee outreach initiatives and training on Ethics and Compliance topics.
- Provide supervision coaching and guidance to members of the Americas Regional Ethics and Compliance team.
- Identify and lead regional compliance initiatives and contribute to global Ethics and Compliance priorities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school or an equivalent law degree from a recognized international institution.
- Active license to practice law in good standing in at least one jurisdiction. .
- At least 12 years of relevant legal compliance investigations or enforcement experience. .
- At least five years of significant experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Prosecutorial or government investigations:
- Regulatory or law-enforcement matters;
- Corporate internal investigations as in-house counsel; or
- Internal investigations as outside counsel.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex end-to-end internal investigations in multijurisdictional environments.
- Experience advising management on investigation findings corrective actions remediation and risk mitigation.
- Experience reporting significant investigation findings and recommendations to senior management or executive leadership.
- Experience practicing law in Latin America and engaging with government officials or regulatory authorities in the region.
- Experience leading supervising or providing functional direction to teams
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an international environment with a high degree of cultural awareness and sensitivity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience analyzing financial records and other financial data in connection with internal investigations.
- Professional proficiency in Portuguese including written and verbal communication.
