Application Engineer

In this role you will beresponsible for leading engineering activities related to serial production seatbelt products ensuring the successful implementation of product and process changes while maintaining quality cost and delivery targets. You will manage customer-driven design changes internal product enhancements and engineering modifications throughout the product lifecycle.
Should you be interested in overseeing these tasks and aiming for enhanced performance standards your role will involve:
Lead the design development testing validation and release of production seatbelt systems ensuring compliance with customer regulatory and internal requirements.
Manage engineering changes through the product lifecycle including the release of component assembly and customer drawings while maintaining all required engineering documentation.
Serve as a key customer interface for product development activities collaborating with Program Management and cross-functional teams to support successful product implementation and launch.
Plan and execute prototype builds DV/PV testing benchmarking and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) activities analyzing test results and driving product improvements.
Support cross-functional problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives by working closely with Quality Manufacturing Purchasing Process and Launch teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure successful production startup.
If you have/are:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline with 25 years of experience in product design or engineering within the automotive industry.
Strong technical knowledge of GD&T SPC engineering specifications and automotive product development processes.
Proven experience with structured problem-solving methodologies including Root Cause Analysis 8D and corrective action implementation.
Proficiency in English is required; Japanese or German language skills are considered a plus.
Experience with CATIA or similar CAD software preferred combined with strong technical aptitude proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional engineering teams.
