Job Summary
The position leads gateway operations third-party handlers cargo security regulatory compliance and operational performance across multiple airports enabling rapid network expansion while maintaining world-class customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end operational performance across cargo gateways ensuring safe compliant and reliable execution.
- Lead airport operations cargo handling warehouse activities and aircraft turnarounds to meet customer and network commitments.
- Manage airline ground handler warehouse and security partners through clear performance metrics and governance mechanisms.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput reduce costs improve DEA/OTP and enhance operational quality.
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations cargo security requirements dangerous goods standards and Amazon safety policies.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to optimize network execution and rapidly resolve operational disruptions.
- Standardize operating procedures and launch readiness for new gateways carriers and cargo capabilities.
- Analyze operational data to identify performance gaps implement corrective actions and improve customer delivery speed.
- Serve as the primary operational escalation point for gateway performance ensuring business continuity and successful execution during peak events and network expansion.
A day in the life
No two days are the same. You begin by reviewing the previous nights network performance operational KPIs and safety metrics across multiple air gateways. Throughout the day you partner with airlines ground handlers warehouse teams and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve operational challenges optimize aircraft utilization and ensure on-time execution. You lead performance reviews drive process improvements and support new gateway or carrier launches. Whether responding to operational disruptions or planning future network capacity your focus remains on delivering a safe scalable and customer-obsessed air cargo operation.
- 5 years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience working with and managing third party vendors
- Experience in transportation or supply chain within a high-volume logistics manufacturing or engineering environment
- Speak write and read fluently in English and have the ability to take direction in English
- 3 years of program management logistics operations supply chain transportation or related field experience
- Experience in transportation or supply chain within a high-volume logistics manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience managing airport gateways cargo terminals or airline ground handling operations.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations dangerous goods cargo security and safety management systems.
- 1 years of performance metrics process improvement or lean techniques experience
- Experience with data analysis and basic Excel skills
