Job Title: Advocacy Coordinator/ Coordinador de Incidencia Status: Full time/ Tiempo Completo

Primary Function: The Advocacy Coordinator supports the Director and Associate Director of Education and Advocacy in implementing the advocacy strategy leveraging the resources and networks of KBI a Catholic organization located at the US-Mexico border to promote humane and just migration policy./ El/La Coordinador(a) de Incidencia apoya a la Dirección y Dirección Asociada de Educación e Incidencia en la implementación de la estrategia de incidencia aprovechando los recursos y las redes de KBI una organización católica ubicada en la frontera entre México y Estados Unidos para promover una política migratoria humana y justa.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the Diocese by speaking acting and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church./ Reconocer y apoyar la misión católica única de la Diócesis hablando actuando e instruyendo de manera coherente con las enseñanzas de la Iglesia Católica Romana.

Support advocacy staff with documenting abuses both in the US and Mexico training others to document abuses and other relevant accountability and monitoring projects as needed. / Apoyar al personal de incidencia en documentar abusos tanto en México como en los Estados Unidos entrenar a otros en cómo documentar abusos y otros proyectos relevantes de rendición de cuentas y monitoreo que se necesiten.
Coordinate KBIs strategy for collecting and documenting the testimony from people who come to our center for the first time or who interact with us during monitoring including the training of colleagues and volunteers. / Coordinar la estrategia de IKF para la recabación y documentación del testimonio de las personas que llegan a nuestro centro por primera vez o que interactúan con nosotros durante los monitoreos incluyendo la capacitación de compañeros y voluntarios.
Keep statistics databases and processes conducive to effective advocacy work./ Mantener estadísticas bases de datos y procesos que conduzcan a una efectiva labor de incidencia.
Cultivate strategic partnerships with other immigrant advocacy organizations to identify opportunities for KBIs compelling stories and data to inform and support the broader advocacy movement./ cultivar alianzas estratégicas con otras organizaciones de incidencia migratoria para identificar oportunidades donde las historias y datos convincentes de KBI informen y apoyen el movimiento de incidencia más amplio.
In partnership with other staff implement the strategic plan for advocacy efforts in the US and Mexico that is attentive to the realities experienced by the migrants that KBI accompanies. / Apoyar en la construcción y fortalecimiento de relaciones con oficinas de Congresistas (tanto a nivel federal como estatal en AZ) para informar y animarles a luchar por políticas que promueven la dignidad de los migrantes.
Support building and maintaining connections with Congressional offices (at both the Federal and AZ State level) to inform them and persuade them to champion policies that promote the dignity of migrants/ Apoyar en la construcción y fortalecimiento de relaciones con oficinas de Congresistas (tanto a nivel federal como estatal en AZ) para informar y animarles a luchar por políticas que promueven la dignidad de los migrantes.
Maintain a relevant and up-to-date presentation about the immigration context in the U.S. and support the education team with presentations for groups visiting the KBI./ Mantener una presentación relevante y actual sobre el contexto migratorio en los EE. UU. y apoyar al equipo educativo con presentaciones para grupos que visitan la IKF.
In collaboration with other education and advocacy staff plan implement and update advocacy trainings for volunteers and other leaders at KBI partner institutions./ En colaboración con el resto del personal deeducación e incidencia planear implementar y actualizar entrenamientos de incidencia para voluntarios y otros líderes en organizaciones aliadas de IKF.

Education and Experience/ Estudios y experiencias

At least two years of experience in nonprofit social services advocacy community organizing education or ministry preferably with migrants border communities or other vulnerable populations./ Al menos dos años de experiencia en servicios sociales en organizaciones sin ánimo de lucro incidencia organización comunitaria educación o ministerio preferentemente con personas migrantes comunidades fronterizas u otras poblaciones en situación de vulnerabilidad.
Knowledge of and experience with advocacy strategy for humane and just migration policies. / Conocimiento y experiencia en estrategias de incidencia para políticas migratorias justas y humanas.
Undergraduate degree or higher studies in public policy political science law education social work religious studies Latin American studies international relations or another related discipline or equivalent experience. / Pregrado o estudios de nivel superior en políticas públicas ciencia política derecho educación trabajo social estudios religiosos estudios latinoamericanos relaciones internacionales u otra disciplina afín o experiencia equivalente.
Bachelors degree or higher in public policy political science law education social work religious studies Latin American studies international affairs or a related discipline or equivalent experience./ Preferiblemente tener familiaridad con la región fronteriza entre Estados Unidos y México con las problemáticas ytendencias migratorias actuales y con la política migratoria de Estados Unidos y México - o disposición y capacidad para aprender rápidamente sobre estos temas.

Physical/Mental Requirements / Requisitos fisicos/mentales

Requires coordination and manual dexterity normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal office environment. Position is hybrid with a preference for 3 in-person days a week in Nogales Sonora. The position requires extended periods of desk work (sitting using a computer) participation in meetings (in person and online) and occasional standing and walking during visits immersions and on-site accompaniment activities. Language skills

Fluent written and verbal communication in English and Spanish is required.
