Job Summary
Job Description
The Accounts Payable (AP) Accountant will become part of the established support department mainly covering the Americas while also providing global support. The AP Accountant supports processes within the BSO department in collaboration with different stakeholders across the LEGO Group.
The Accountant contributes to the overall success of the BSO and LEGO strategies by delivering high-quality execution and a great service experience supporting the Procure to Pay processes aligned with LEGO procedures and policies.
Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Perform day-to-day financial transactions including verifying classifying and recording accounts payable data.
Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Verify and investigate discrepancies if any by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.
Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting vendors.
Generate reports detailing accounts payable status.
Assist with month-end closing.
Provide supporting documentation for audits.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
Preferred degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration Business Affairs or a related field.
Experience in Procure to Pay functions.
Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Accountant.
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
Proven ability to calculate post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
SAP knowledge preferred or experience with another ERP system.
Experience working in highly collaborative environments.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Fluent English reading writing and speaking skills.
